Even though the Ottawa Senators are out of the Eastern Conference playoff picture and New York is in the thick of it, Rangers coach Alain Vigneault expects a difficult test as his Rangers look to avoid consecutive home losses for the first time in two months. Viewers in the Senators region can watch the Senators vs. Rangers live tonight on TSN5 at 7pm et/8pm at. LIsten to the game on TSN Radio 1200 in Ottawa starting at 5pm et. We know Ottawa is a good team, coach Alain Vigneault said. They made a coaching change (to Dave Cameron) and theyre obviously trying to impress the new staff, so we know were going to have to be ready. One of his clubs top challenges will be solving Anderson, who has won all six of his regular-season starts at MSG while posting a 1.14 goals-against average - his best at any venue where hes played more than once. He split four starts there in the first round of the 2012 playoffs but allowed just eight goals. Anderson will get the nod between the pipes Tuesday and has been playing well, going 6-3-2 with a 1.90 GAA in his last 11 starts and not allowing more than three goals in any of them. He finished with 25 saves Saturday in Ottawas fifth defeat in seven games, 3-2 to Carolina. Mark Stone and Cody Cecil provided the only goals for the Senators, who are 10 points out of a postseason spot. You look at yourself and cant help but think your playoff hopes are dwindling after you lose games, said Stone, who is riding a five-game point streak. We just need to find ways to get that success. The Senators have had plenty of success at the Garden, where they are 13-1-1 in their last 15 regular-season visits without a loss since October 2009. New Yorks Henrik Lundqvist has been in net for all seven games during that home slide versus Ottawa. Hes lost four of five starts against the Senators overall with a 2.77 GAA since beating them in the 2012 playoffs. The 2012 Vezina Trophy winner is expected to play after slamming his hand into a skate while trying to recover a loose puck Sunday. Hes gone 13-2-0 with a 1.69 GAA in his last 15 starts after finishing with 32 saves against the Penguins. New York seeks its third straight victory and 16th in 19 games Tuesday night when it tries to avoid an eighth consecutive regular-season home loss to the Senators. Rick Nash scored three times over a five-game winning streak in which the Rangers averaged 4.4 goals from Dec. 31-Jan. 10. However, he then matched his longest pointless stretch of the season at three games while New York (26-13-4) was blanked in back-to-back losses before pulling out a 2-1 win at Columbus on Friday. The All-Star left wing bounced back Sunday with his fifth multigoal game in a 5-2 win at Pittsburgh, moving into a tie with Dallas Tyler Seguin for the league lead with 28 goals. Derek Stepan also scored twice after going eight games without one, and Derick Brassard ended a five-game drought. The Rangers have won seven straight and 15 of 18 when Nash scores. He has six goals in his last seven meetings with the Senators (18-18-8) dating to his time with Columbus. MORITZ, Switzerland -- Ted Ligety of the United States put together two nearly flawless runs in difficult conditions to win a World Cup giant slalom on Sunday, the last mens race before the Sochi Olympics. Ligety, a two-time world champion in the event, overcame poor visibility to finish a massive 1.51 seconds faster than Marcel Hirscher of Austria in the combined time. "Its so tough when you cant see anything, it makes it so much more tiring. Im glad I was able to make it to the finish line," said Ligety, who posted the fastest time in both runs. The convincing win boosted Ligetys Olympic hopes. "Its nice to get in another good race and I hope I can carry that confidence over the next two weeks," Ligety said. Hirscher jumped from third to second, while Alexis Pinturault of France fell from second to third after both heats to finish 1.69 seconds behind Ligety. "The second run was definitely very good, but the first run, to be one and a half seconds behind, was nothing for me," Hirscher said. As fog shrouded the middle section of the course, Ligety raced to his 21st career victory and his third in a giant slalom this season. He also has a victory in a super combined this year. Ligety won the first two giant slaloms of the season, with Hirscher getting the next two. Felix Neureuther of Germany, winner of the previous giant slalom race, skipped the event to rest a painful back before the Olympics. Hirscher still stayed atop the giant slalom standings and took the lead overall as Aksel Lund Svindal of Noorway fell in the second heat.dddddddddddd Hirscher is now 58 points ahead of Svindal. The Austrian has a 95-point lead over Pinturault in giant slalom standings, while Ligety is five points behind the Frenchman. "It was a very difficult slope but I am pleased because I stayed on the podium," Pinturault said. Ligety explained his big margin of victory by taking a different line. "When its bumpy like this, I dont go so straight, I go a bit closer to the gates. A little mistake will cost you a lot on a course like this," Ligety said. Bode Miller of the United States hit a rut and crashed out about halfway into the first run. Miller won the giant slalom title at the 2003 World Championships, the last time men raced in St. Moritz. The 36-year-old American said he was ready for his fifth Olympics, despite Sundays mishap. "My skiing is generally pretty solid now," Miller said. "There were already big holes in some places when I went down and you cant see where they are and the coaches cant tell you where they are. The guys making it down were skiing very conservatively, trying not to crash and not to make mistakes. Ted is the only one really who skied normally. "I didnt want to be 2.5 seconds behind and so tried to ski normally. But I had big problems from the start," Miller said. Fog forced the cancellation of Saturdays downhill and threatened the giant slalom as well. The start of the second run was delayed by half an hour and there was a long break before the last 11 racers. ' ' '
